  2. Lens and camera used to take the photos above for your reference. There seem to be a number of different iterations of the wide-angle 24-28mm Vivitars (and associated brands). The early versions are quite big and have a 62mm front filter thread, and the later ones start to get a bit plasticky. This one is just right.

    These posts illustrate the power of the lowly vivitar lenses, when you get one of the good ones. The ones with the 37xxxxx # are very fine. My only complaint is the weight. But a lot of good glass, is heavy. I have used mine a lot, but am retiring (selling) it. moving on to auto focus.

    My copy is a '73 and in bargain condition. It seems light in contrast and detail but the colors are pretty true.
