Like the shots taken from the ferry, especially the last one, capturing that classic sail boat...

    Nice shots!.

I'm not a pro, but what I normally do for night photography is following the night photography tips:
    Use tripod,
    Use manual mode
    Use ISO 200
    Set Metering to "Muti-segment"
set the aperture to F8-F11 (whichever settings that give the lens highest resolutions)
Adjust the Shutter speed to make sure the Ex Comp hits "0"
    Set graduation to "Low Key"
    Set saturation to +1
    Set sharpness to +1
Play around with the contrast setting

I would add ND filter to lower down the shutter speed to 5s or 10s.

If I don't have remote wireless, set "anti-shock" to 8 secs to prevent blur picture.

This setting has helped me overcome the limitation of E-PL2

Below is the picture I took from my Condominium on the snowy night in Toronto, there is nothing spectacular about this pic, i just wanted to test out the settings.
Due to ISO noise on E-PL2, I had to lower the shutter speed while maintaining the Fstop at F8.

Does that junk with the red lighted sails always try to get into a photo? I have something almost exactly the same from almost 2 years ago.

I see the air pollution gods were in your favour. My victoria harbour shots have a nice warm glow from the smog :p

Yes, we got lucky. It was cold and perhaps this helped lift the smog/fog that night. The red junk just happened to sail across my line of sight.
