Got a used VF-2 (now that I have an EP3). It really is great for manual focusing. You can just see it "snap" into focus so much better than on the LCD. Of course MUCH MUCH better than my EP1, but even better than my EP3. Don't even seem to need the maginification button.

One question, though: the highlights seem really blown coming through the VF2, and the colors are not saturated. It's perfectly functional, but it's not accurate or rich, compared to the LCD.

    Is this anyone else's experience?

I know exactly what you mean, but you do get used to the slightly unreal view the EVF gives you - I keep the histogram on while shooting, so you can constantly see if the highlights really are blown - it does appear that EVF's suffer from a lack of DR, hence the blocked up blacks and blown highlights look....
