Just took delivery of these so I thought I would do a quick post. Yes they are a bit on the cheap side (all plastic), yes they are a little lose. I'm not sure I'll use both at the same time because they are just lose enough that the two combined move too much (not even 100% sure I'm going to keep them). They didn't work too well on my Panasonic 45-175 but seem to work well enough on the Sigma 60. But they do AF and they sure do allow for closer focus.

    Olympus E-M10 / Sigma 60mm
    Lens only
    Lens + 10mm
    Lens + 16mm
    Lens + both

Nothing scientific, not even a terrible exciting subject matter. But what the heck.

I used the Vello on my Oly. 60mm macro for greater than life size and they worked well. I did however sell them and purchase a similar set made by Fotga because I ran across a thread last year where someone compared the two different brands on the same camera and lens. He was concerned the smooth surface of the inner tube on the Vello might allow slight glare when shooting. The Fotga has tiny concentric rings that taper inside each tube which prevents glare bouncing around inside the tubes. He showed in his post that in some situations the Vello did present some glare which affected the contrast of the image. The Fotga tubes showed much better contrast and a cleaner looking image. The one thing that surprised me was they were priced the same on Ebay. He also showed that taking fine grained sandpaper to the inner barrel of the Vello to rough up the smooth finish improved the contrast using the Vello. I don't remember where the post was (sorry I'm a senior, that simple statement covers a lot of bases).

I did end up returning the tube, too much play in them when they were stacked.

I see what you mean about the ribs/rings. The Fotga seems about the same as the Fotasy in that respect.

There is also play when using both the Fotga tubes but it's not been enough for me to lose the signals between the lens and camera body (so far).
