While it is often said that the best camera is the one that you have with you, my luck has frequently led me to believe that the best camera is the one that I always leave behind when I head out. Today, however, I learned that the best camera is the one that has a memory card in it!

We were heading to the farmers' market this morning for a few items (i.e. a quick trip), and as I have been building up a stock of images over the past year on the subject, I quickly grabbed a body, a spare battery and my 60mm macro in hopes of a few shots. I saw the perfect shot within minutes of arriving, turned on the camera, focused, fired, and then saw that lovely message in the view finder, "No Memory Card". Thank goodness we are still early in the late summer/early fall harvest. You win some, you lose some, and sometimes you can't even play the game!

Anyone care to add any variations on the best camera?

I did the same thing this month, at the semiannual car show. Only, I shot 30 or so shots, before I saw the error!
