Valley of Fire

    This is a gem of a state park. It is a short drive from Las Vegas, Nevada. Yesterday I posted some pictures of some slot canyon in Valley of Fire in this thread Here are some more pictures from Valley of Fire State Park.

    I've been to the Valley of Fire and it is an incredible place to visit and explore. It's huge for a state park. These shots make me want to return. Because of the heat summer visitations aren't recommended though.

    For some reason I find those far more fascinating than the broader views, they kind of get down to the nitty gritty of what's going on with the canyons.

    The closest that we get to anything like that in Oz, as far as I've found, is along coast line where cliffs have eroded, but still nothing as dramatic.
