Hi, was wondering if anyone manage to use their Oly EM5 or EM10 for EDC (Electronic Daisy Carnival)?

I think they mentioned professional camera not allowed, but are the above cameras considered as professional?

Depending on the venue/event, that could be any camera with a view finder hump, any lens that extends longer than x (pretty much any telephoto or fast zoom), or if you're unlucky, anything with an interchangeable lens. Safe bets are high end compacts like the LX100, you might get lucky with something like the GM5 and a pancake/small prime like the 45mm if they're not looking too closely...

camera body colors like blue, orange or green should pass without issues.

Which EDC? Each one has slightly different camera rules.

If the rules are unclear or you want to chance it, stick to smaller lenses, and try multiple security checks if you have to.

    And don't get mugged.

The rules for EDC Vegas (which was in June?) are clear:

It should not be hard to find some mu-43 lenses under 15cm :p

And here I thought EDC stood for "everyday carry" to which I had a completely different answer prepared :/

I've been able to get my G5 and P100-300 into several sporting events. One even used a sheet of paper to measure the length of the lens. As long as it was shorter than the paper, it was fine. Gotta love m43. Could never have gotten a Canon 100-400 on a dslr in.

Looks like an event custom made for the LX100. Might be short at only 75mm for somethings but based on that video... And 4K video to boot.
