I was given the E-P3 2 weeks prior to the world-wide launch to play with.

My humble views of it as compared to my E-P2 are at Documents matching "koonyik" | Scribd

Pardon the choice of the photo locations as I could only snap in my home country.

All my humble E-P3 pictures are SOOC and available at Flickr: kiynook's Photostream.

Hope I have contributed to the community.

    Thank you.

  4. Is it weird that I find the look of the menus is an exciting new feature? I like the idea of bracketing the art filters, although you have always been able to to shoot with and without an art filter by shooting raw + jpeg.

The flare on pg30 is a little unsettling, is it normally pretty resistant to flaring?

5 customizable buttons?? Awesome! With super fast AF, I may just have to get an EP3 now!

Flaring is caused more from the lens.

I don't know what you are trying to say, but I was asking if the lens is generally resistant to flare.

excellent review. Im satisfied with the noise on my E-P2. think The E-P3 is perfect. is there any news on a firmware update for the E-P2? just for the menus.

    Re: menus...

FW update seems unlikely: the menus rely on the higher resolution screens (and touch for the E-P3!). Of course any update is welcome!:2thumbs:

there are two things i'd like oly to change.

The Exposure compensator value. negative and positive still confuses me. sometimes i end up turning the other direction. I like the one on the E-P3.

the delete/trash could still be customized. it has no use when in shooting mode.

Yes yes...it is crazy to use flash when I am shooting a subject less than 8 inches away but I had no choice. It was 9pm and the light is not good plus I did not train my guinea pig to sit still. So, I decided to use low intensity flash to shoot at higher shutter speeds. Yes, I could have use higher ISO but I will only go there when all else fail at lower ISO.

Now I want to explore shooting macro with this pop-up flash since I have proven to myself that at close distance it still works.

I just shoot for fun. :)

Like you I have accepted the fact that there will be no more firmware updates for my E-P2 unless there are issues with new lenses working on E-P2.

But I have seen the 12mm working well on the E-P1 and also the E-P2.

On our local launch to the public on 16th July, my friends will test the 12mm on their E-PL1 and E-PL2.

There will be a new version of the Olympus Viewer 2.
