    Hi all.

Yesterday I enjoyed what is becoming the increasingly rare privelage of having the time to go out and shoot. Went into town for a walk and decided upon a theme beforehand...Urban Textures. Intentionally went out with that in mind as I need some time to get accustomed to the EM-5, still fumbling around a little and instinctively not in tune with it yet, hence the 'easy target' theme for my first real day out with the camera.

All shots with the PL25 with the exception of #4 which was with the P7-14mm.

Very nice idea, I especially like #5 and #6. They make me think remotely of Mondriaan paintings.

Nice shots. #1 makes me feel a bit like a peeping tom, but it's a nice image. Were you playing with Art Filters with any of these, or is all the manipulation done in post?

BTW, at first I was surprised to see so many leaves on the ground at the end of spring, but then I noticed your location.

    Thanks guys.

Thanks mate...it's certainly a little different to my previous cameras but I think I'm really going to like it a lot and it certainly attracted attention. Got stopped twice, once by a German tourist carrying a big Nikon kit, he was tripping at howsmall the EM5 was in real life and said he has been on the verge of going m4/3....the other was a young hipster guy shooting a Sony NEX5 who said he was switching over because he was SOOOO envious of our lenses. I showed him the PL25, P7-14 & O45 and I think i saw some drool !!!

Hehe...it is a bit peeping Tom. Funny but "Outside looking In" is a shooting theme Ive been planning on getting around to at some point. No Art Filters, the color treatment is all PP in LR4.1

Brilliant photos and a good reminder to go through the discipline of a "themed" photo walk. Thanks!

    Hey E....thanks :)

I used a preset (forget the name now) as the base for the look but had a play with various sliders to make the bricks pop, think i ran it through a bit of Nik CFX 'pro contrast' just for kicks too :) did a bit of spot removal of crap off the windows as well.

PM me a reminder i you like and I'll find the exact name of the LR preset I used.

I like that first one Eliot....the parts of Melbournes old inner suburbs where developers/renovators haven't moved in yet are covered on corrugated iron.
