    I'm in the UK.
    I have a GF-1 with Version 1.2 firmware.
I'd like to install the USA Version 1.2 firmware to get past the 29m 59s video limit.

I'd like to set the camera on a tripod to video my band's gigs (along with an external sound recorder), but our set is more than 30 minutes long and there is often isn't anyone I trust with us to start/stop the video on the camera.

I downloaded Version 1.2 from the USA Panasonic site and I followed the firmware update procedure using the SD card, but it wouldn't update as it won't replace v1.2 with v1.2.

Is there any way round that? If I hook the camera up by USB I can't access its internal memory, only the SD card.

I'm not keen to put the usual video firmware hack on to it at the moment as it is still in warranty and don't want any issues being rejected cos I was mucking around with hacked firmware instead of Panasonic firmware.

Regardless, I put the hacked firmware on it.
Nice to be able to set the video to a-priority
