I have opened another thread about the 1.2 Pro primes, especially the 17mm Pro, which was not only excluded from the recent european 2020 holiday promotion, but was also more or less delisted by a couple of dealers, including large ones like Amazon. Fast forward to 2021 and the lens is available again with most dealers, even Amazon. So it was nothing but a false alert. Even if the 60mm Macro wouldn't be available right now, it wouldn't mean it has been discontinued by OM-D.OMG the sky is falling the 60mm macro isn't on the deals page.
OMDS is developing M. Zuiko Digital ED 100mm F2.8 IS PRO 2:1 Macro lens! It will come soon!
That is bad news for me. I was going to NOT spend money on lenses this year...It looks like the Macro lens is getting closer to being released.
What they really meant to write was "The lens has been teased on various roadmaps (without real specs) for 18 years now."The lens was teased on the roadmap (without real specs)
I was hoping it could be 2:1, like Laowa has done. This would be so amazing. It looks like the Macro lens is getting closer to being released.
I said "could" & "this would be so amazing", so don't understand your tip here?Consider the source. It needs to post something to keep the "deals" on memory cards from running in to one another.
Yeah, Laowa 50mm for MFT has 2:1. But you can get similar with the Olympus 60mm plus Raynoxes, so no reason for me to buy that one.I didn't even know 4:1 equivalent magnification is possible. That would be crazy.
F2.8 and IS is what I'm expecting and hoping for. I'm also hoping for similar size to 12-100mm or smaller.
8-25mm F4 is still what I want most, but if there is 100mm F2.8 announced and available in time for spring next year, it would complete my lens collection. Fast telephoto macro prime to go along with the slow UWA zoom and the slow standard zoom (12-100mm F4) would be all I need.
