We took a walk around a local nature preserve this morning. While peering into the water, we saw a number of these floating near shore. I get the feeling they might have come from some of the local cedar trees since the pattern seems reminisce of a pine cone (sort of?) but don’t know if they are from branch or what. This example was about 18” long and maybe 5”-6” in diameter. Any ideas?
