Please talk me out of it....

I have a G3 which I love but GAS it making me squirm and I have this overwhelming desire to get an E-PL3 as well so I have as an even more portable, jacket pocket-able (with the 20mm) camera. I know I don't need it but.....well you know GAS we all get it!!!

Please convince me not to do it!!!!!

GAS? Gear Acquisition Syndrome possibly? I get that all the time. The only solution I've found is to go out and spend a whack of money. Unfortunately, it's not a long term solution.

There is no remedy for GAS. Just go get the EPL3. Just do it Paul!!! Embrace it fully. It'll make you feel better for sure! :)

I was afraid of that, I was hoping there is a cure but I fear you are right, it's a terrible aliment, GAS that is

You could go for a EPM1... you already have a swivel-display camera, and the M is a little smaller than the L...

200$ spared? no... 200$ more for your next GAS attack  It's half a oly 45mm!

Get an E-PM1. Maybe silver. That should push off the purchase of the E-PL3 for at least a month.

+1 for the mini PEN... noticeably smaller front to back.

Every time I have a bout of GAS I open a good photobook, look at other people's wonderful photographs and decide that the only factor limiting the quality of my pictures is my skill (or, to be precise, lack thereof). After that I usually live in peace for a month or two

That said, if you want that E-PL3, you definitely should buy it

Yeah the E-Pm1 does sound like a good alternative but only available with kit lens in the UK at the moment and it only £50 cheaper than the E-PL3 kit, how do the 2 compare IQ wise etc have there been any reviews?

Don't do it, Paul! ........ Get the E-P3 instead, you'll love it!

Also add the 12mm f2 and 45mm f1.8 to your list - you've got to get that GAS out of your system!

But keep some money back in case the Panny 12-35mm f2 materializes!

IQ is essentially identical on all three new Olympus models - same sensor, same processor, same lens options. Features vary but IQ shouldn't at all.

If you really suffer from GAS, you could try some TUMS (tally up more stuff).

Only cure for GAS is to let it go here and there in small increments. No one will suspect anything.

Pepto-Bismol is useless, as is all the other OTC remedies. Your only solution is an on-line purchase from your favorite website or local camera shop.

I'm pleased to report my venting on here has released the GAS and I'm resisting spending my money for the moment.
