Oly Zuiko 24mm f2.8 reversed on camera, Fotodiox adaptor left on the lens to maintain aperture control and act as a hood.

You get fixed magnification (approx 1:25x), working distance of about 1.5" from the Fotodiox mount.

Stopped down to f11, a perfectly good image is displayed for focusing on the G3.

    Oh..! and it's cheap.

Example to show the magnification that is available, each division is 1mm.

Where did you get your reversing ring from, and are there any particular criteria that make a lens better for reversing ?

The native lenses are not ideal candidates for reversing, since you'll lose any electronic control and hence will not be able to control aperture or focus.

Manual legacy lenses are your best bet.

Do the OM Reversing Rings have a tab to hold back the DOF Preview arm so that the lenses can be stopped down with the aperture ring?

I don't wish to teach you to suck eggs Ned, but with a reversing ring the front of the lens attaches to the camera mount.

I have a Fotodiox :43: to OM adaptor on the lens mount end which has a tab to hold back the DOF Preview arm so that the lenses can be stopped down with the aperture ring? as you know.

I highly recommend using the m43 adapter to activate the stop-down lever as Dave has shown, as opposed to using manual extension tubes; reason, it makes for a very good lens shade which is a must when using these lenses reversed.
