    There were a few dozen folks snapping shots down by the water in Brooklyn tonight- wondering if any of them are also members here?

    ...there are few others in my stream, if your interested.

    Great capture, I was wondering if this forum would turn up someone posting from the area. Thank you for that!

    Lights that pierce the darkness

    I look yearly from the west coast for images of these beams of light. They bring a measure of peace as the twin beams of light pierce the darkness of the day. Thank you.

    Great picture mate. Composition, sharpness and colour is perfect but you got a small/big problem... it's wonky.:smile: Fix that up and you've got a winner.

    Processing really captures the drama of the twin beams and I think the off kilter perspective adds to the drama rather than detracts. Nice composition

    Thank you all for your feedback!

    @dhrazzz, your very welcome.

    @iconindustries,@arch stanton,@zap, @Caimi: thanks for the feedback in regards to alignment. I'm always caught between the desire to have a straight horizon and the desire to convey motion; I guess i felt that since there were so many right angles in the horizon (and of course the mega-right angle between the lights and the horizon), I could get away with a bit of a twist.

    @caimi, this was shot in raw, at 14mm, ISO 250, f/4, 5 seconds, 0ev, with the olympus EPM1, kit (14-42) lens.

    @wildwildwes, love the blue qualities of that first shot!

    Thanks chollander... it's always a toss up as to how to deal with color temperature when there's multiple light sources (all with a different color temp!). in this case, I opted to go with the OM-D's incandescent color temp option...

    Perhaps we can get together for a coffee or whatever one of these days soon.

    cheers!

    I was there last night too with my E-PM1 + brand new 12-50mm (literally got it hours ago). Made some pretty bad mistakes, including - forgetting about diffraction and using f/16 + judging exposure on the LCD screen.

    Here's a resized shot so you won't as many of the flaws :smile::
