I decided not to take a big kit with me to Florida. There are certainly some shots I won't get but I decided simplicity would be better.

All these are shot with the EM-1 and PL25 or 12-60SWD.

So we left our two dogs at home to go and visit our kids who are training in florida:

    P3140023.

    Our dogs are not impressed!

We are staying on the Atlantic coast in Florida:

    P3150031.

    P3150036.

    Right on the beach:

A few obligatory I was here photos:

    P3160002.

I like the fog effect but I am glad I did not shoot much of it. The fog is salt spray due to the wind. I can't imagine this is good for any gear, sealed or not.

    My wife on the beach:

And yes m43 can't do birds in flight what was I thinking:

And a few of the "Pelican Air Force":

The bag I am using for this trip is a Crumpler Haven (M). It really works well for traveling. I slip it into my backpack but most days I just carry the camera without anything.

Nice shots. You're in my back yard. :) Just about the road on A1A. If you're into birding ... visit the Viera Wetlands

I would not say I was into birding per se, and I certainly did not bring the right lens for that location! We might go and have a look just for fun though.

Depending how long your're around, there's a rocket launch on Tuesday PM. Aside from the wetlands, check also out Sebastian Inlet, the Zoo, KSC, Port and rent kayaks at Honest John's.
Now question of all questions; are your kids into flying planes or paddling :) ... if the later part, head over the draw bridge there and up that small barrier island. Good photo ops

    Ding ding on #2 -

    P3200021.

    P3200026.

    The boat lifts are cool

    P3200014.

And I don't know why I keep trying, m43 just can't do birds in flight, especially with 4/3 lenses. Such a waste of time...

Nice shots. I think your birds in flight turned out quite nicely. :)

What lens are you using for the birds in flight images?

Thanks, I was pretty pleased with them. I was being facetious about not being able to shoot birds in flight of course!

Every shot except the first set is with the olympus 12-60 SWD. The first set was all shot with the PL 25.

There is EXIF data on all the shots and they are all pretty much SOC JPEGs.

    Piping Plover:

    P3210014.

    And a few Royal Terns:

    P3210010.

    Typical View at Honest John's:

    P3210005.

    And the sign:

    P3210008.

I don't think that is John in the background, otherwise he is very well preserved!

Thanks Dan for the tip about Honest John's. I would never have picked this location. The park islands are fantastic! Great place to kayak for a bit.

I know exactly how you feel, I was in Florida towards the beginning of this month and was thinking by the time we get back it should be nice decently warm weather. NOPE got back down to below freezing and even got a couple more snows... Great set of pictures though!

In case it makes you feel any better, temperatures tanked to below 50 overnight. :)

Yes my kids are complaining. Shoveling a few feet of snow trumps 50 F though  .
