Not a train...however, I have never seen a trailer like this before, thought it might be of interest.

But it is a train! If you look underneath next to the tires, there's a railroad wheel. Those flatbed trailers have hydraulic (maybe pneumatic) axles that raise and lower to allow them to run on tracks. The box itself is held on to the flatbed with pins, and they can mount different length boxes on the trailer. It's a slick system, the front of each trailer is supported by coupling it to the one in front of it requiring only one axle per trailer. When it reaches it's destination they just hook it up to a semi tractor and take it down the road. We used to see them a lot around here, although I haven't seen one in quite some time and had forgotten all about them until your post.

Canadian Pacific 9704 and Union Pacific 6222 head up a tank car train heading south at Penhold 14th July 2019. No.6222 does not look too healthy judging by the black smoke coming out of the exhaust. I presume that they are going to do some switching at Penhold due to the conductor standing on the footsteps and a lone grain car at the front of a block tank car train. We were just heading out to photograph a horse show otherwise I would have headed south and caught it climbing the grade heading towards Innisfail.

There are hours of utube of it double heading with 844 all over the west. But individual photographs I have not seen. I sure would love to see it in person then you would have tons of pictures.

My brother and I went after her on her trip to Utah. I have a ton of photos, but still need to go through them and then I'll post some here.

A few from the Rochelle Illinois Train Park. Lots of railfans show up at this location. Approximately 80 trains pass thru here in a 24hr period. There's a pavillion with tables and benches plus a gift shop.

Twenty-five Big Boys were built exclusively for Union Pacific Railroad, the first of which was delivered in 1941. The locomotives were 132 feet long and weighed 1.2 million pounds. Because of their great length, the frames of the Big Boys were "hinged," or articulated, to allow them to negotiate curves. They had a 4-8-8-4 wheel arrangement, which meant they had four wheels on the leading set of "pilot" wheels which guided the engine, eight drivers, another set of eight drivers, and four wheels following which supported the rear of the locomotive. The massive engines normally operated between Ogden, Utah, and Cheyenne, Wyo.
