This is stunning  did you take this with the 45 mm? I'm guessing you bought the lens in Japan?

No, the Rainbow Bridge shot I took with the 14-140mm. And yes, I did buy the 45mm in Japan. Actually I had a relative buy it from Amazon a month ago and she just held it for me until I arrived.

    Wonderful photos! Thanks for sharing.
I especially like your perspective on the fuji building. It highlights the futuristic aspects of the structure.

They're all great. My fave is the commuters on the train. Jealous....of your trip and your photography.

Nice shots. How is Japan functioning these days? I've been considering visiting there, but wasn't sure if I should wait a while for them to sort out the power issues etc.

It seems perfectly normal to me ... my mom (who travels there frequently) says that Tokyo is somewhat less bright than it used to be, because they are conserving electricity, but it still looks pretty bright, I think. Everything appears to be normal and I don't think there are rolling blackouts anymore. All the trains are on schedule and all the shops are open. We'll be traveling up to Sendai next week so we'll see how things are there.

Everybody seems to be in a world of their own when riding the trains.
Does anybody take note of you when you shoot pictures?

Curious. What are the colorfully lighted boats in the bridge image? Thanks.

I don't know the Japanese word for them, but they are floating party boats. From the shore, you can hear the people on them laughing (clearly drinking alcohol) and singing karaoke.

Not really. In Tokyo, there are so many tourists ... Also, a lot of people are asleep (or pretending to sleep). But, I am not being obvious about taking pictures either.

Today we visited the Sendai region. You could definitely see signs of the tsunami damage, but things were bustling and pretty much seemed normal. We toured Matsushima Bay, which is considered to be one of the top three most beautiful places in Japan.

Picture and video using the 14-140mm lens.
