Three weeks in Scotland/UK

    Warning! This is a very image heavy thread. :biggrin:
    All the shots have been taken with my E-M5 and Olympus PRO lenses (12-40mm or 40-150mm).

    We started our journey by flying to London from Tampere (where we live), grabbed a rental car and started driving to Scotland. We basically went around Scotland in clockwise direction starting from south (though we didn't have time for the east coast). Some of the places we visited (in order): Esholt, Glasgow, Dunoon (where we got married, btw!), Dunans Castle, Glencoe, Isle Of Skye, Durness, Dunrobin Castle, Fortrose, Inverness, Loch Ness, Balloch etc.

    The purpose of this trip was to get married in Dunoon. The original idea was to have the ceremony outside Dunans Castle but it was in no condition for that so our private little ceremony was kept in Castle House Museum in Dunoon. We didn't tell anyone we know about our plans beforehand so the wedding was a surprise for everyone. :biggrin:

    We had been to Scotland before (in Edinburgh) but this time we really fell in love with the country. I honestly can't wait to get back there. The people were so nice and friendly everywhere, the scenery was amazing and the animals very photogenic etc. Amazing place.

    Onnea hääparille! What a great way to get married! Besides getting yourself a beautiful wife, you've got some stunning photos too. I particularly liked the panoramic landscape shots.

    Many great shots, although do yourself a favor and take the 4-5 bland shots out of the collection (for instance, the very first two shots IMO). It makes a greater impression overall then. :) 

    Also, why not more shots from the castle, it sure looked like a good place for more photos?

    Glad you enjoyed your visit and yes, we're very friendly.

    Next time you visit, take a walk alongside the River Kelvin - on the Kelvin Way. Some marvellous architecture and bridges along a mile of riverside. :2thumbs:

    Very nice! Please identify the location of the photos.

    We want to go back as well. We were there exactly a year previous (2014) to your visit and notice much lower snowline and no leaves on the trees. It was substancially greener. Must have been a harsh winter. Also see our B&B just to the right of the manor house in EM526456. We hiked into the Lost Valley (photo center right) starting from where EM5 26387-8 was taken. Beautiful!

    What a wonderful place to get hitched! Best wishes. We celebrated our 35th in Scotland.

    Absolutely stunning photos! I spent quite a bit of time in Dunoon during my Navy years. So, thanks for the trip down memory lane as well as the pleasure of viewing some wonderful photographs. Congrats on gettin' hitched! May your marriage be long and happy.
