    Hi I'm new here.

    I have a GF2 currently with 20mm and 14-140mm.
I am thinking of getting a G3 to mount the 14-140mm since I was thinking about getting the external VF for my GF2. So instead of spending $ on the VF, I'd thought why not get the G3..
Is this a waste of money?

Are GF2 and G3 essentially the same camera?

I may in future decide to sell the GF2 and get a GF3 for even more lightweight occasions.

    I guess I am wondering, did I buy a camera (GF2) that is in between GF3 and G3... ?

G3 has a newer and much more improved 16MP sensor thats better in low light. The GX1 shares the same sensor.

GF3 uses the GF2 sensor with some minor improvements but otherwise the same.

you have no connector for the optional VF on the GF3 if you decide to go that route, if a Vf is very important for your considerations i would vote for the G3 then.
