Looks like the high res shot feature is going to need *really* still life... it messed up the stitching in the cityscape due to the steam coming up while shooting. Might limit its utility for landscapes unless it's a very calm day.

Other than that I'm excited for it, there's a lot to like!

The 8 shot sample was reasonably fast. I wish he would have done the same shot handheld but it did look promising.

According to Olympus it takes around a second to capture the 8 frames and 2 more seconds to process them.

Here's an example from another site of the issues it has with movement: Crop-HRS-water.

    Pretty nasty artifacts.

Yeah, I doubt this would be ideal for landscapes.

Then again, when I do city scenes and even if I stitch them, there are artifacts with movement or stitching artifacts. I wonder if HDR mode can be combined with this mode. High Res night city scene here we come.

I don't see why not, presumably Photoshop or whatever would just treat them as normal raw files once the camera does its stuff with them.

Maybe take 5 high res shots and run them through photo acute

Bam, em5 does 200MP, eat it hasselblad!

This is looking good! I have been using a G3 and am looking to upgrade, but always wasn't fond of the video. It seems now this is something worth while.
Does anyone know if there is going to be a mark II for the EM1?

Eventually, but we are probably not going to hear anything official about that until late 2015 or early 2016.
