About five inches of snow falls on my town in a couple of hours. That can only mean one thing........time to jump in the 4x4 and go fetch an emergency bottle of milk.

We call it French Toast weather. It seems every snowfall people have to go out and get bread, eggs, and milk, so we always figured snowfall requires French Toast.

Just to show that we do sometimes get snow in the UK (@RichardC ) beat me to it! It started about 12.30 today and it has just stopped (I think) now:

Another mild winter for Buffalo (and I’m not complaining), but it does make it tough for snowflake pics.

Today the temps were good and a mild flurry sent me out, but the snowflakes were mostly all clumped together and impossible to find a good specimen.

Luckily it’s still January and I have many weeks to go.

Minus 20 dgrs makes for some drive-by shooting, in rather pesky lighting conditions:

Wanted to try a different set-up for snowflakes pics.
Olympus 60mm macro lens + 10mm extension tube + Raynox 250 using in-camera focus stacking.
Sharpness is better, but I prefer my old set-up of bellows and reversed enlarger lens. seemed easier to work with.

Sun is out, and its a toasty minus 12 dgrs C. Slippers on the veranda, shooting out in the backyard.

Wow, what a set-up and beautiful images from that "snowflake" camera. I was feeling a bit down with yesterdays results but reading that article inspired me to get out there again. Practice makes perfect.
I kind of lost interest when it says the best shooting is at -15 to -20 F. My digits and brain don’t function very well at those temperatures.
