Having spent one too many days hauling our bags up staircases in our lodging on this walk, I can appreciate the ingenuity of these external block and tackle arrangements.

This rather neglected wheelie bin was on the verge outside the old women’s wing of the Fremantle prison. I do hope the artist has gone on to greater and better things. Graffiti maybe? ?

I am not quite sure what to make of this water fountain. The plate on the wall indicates the water is not drinkable; so, it is just a drain? Why the pot with the hole? The mysteries of France.

This box or two boxes hangs off the western wall of the Fremantle Prison. I do not think it was a guard box as there is one a few metres away.

I do not know why but I was quite intrigued by these French fire hydrants. Quite a different approach to what we do in Australia and maybe a better approach.

I initially thought that the building that Peter Stroud Podiatry is in would be heritage listed but I got that wrong. The house to the left in the photo is but. Must go back and photograph that building.

Still an image of Parry Street in 2016. You never know it may be of interested in 100 years’ time.

2018 July France - UK holiday: Google Maps labels this sculpture at the Place Michel Debré (formerly the crossroads of the Red Cross) as Anciennes Granges aux Malades de Naples but I cannot find any further information on it.
