Nah, Richard. The sharing is of the bandwidth available. Individual devices are on logically separate networks, and cannot 'see' each other by direct means as they may be able to do on a home network (depends on how a home network is configured).
That is to say, your device is as safe as it is anywhere else.
Personally, I just use my mobile phone as a portable hotspot when necessary.

The autumn vibe is in full swing, leaves are falling like oversized rain drops scattered into the wind, the ground is catching a fire of colours from small dots to whole piles of red, yellow, orange and brown, it smells like it's time to get cozy in fluffy clothing and a cup of hot chocolate, the squirrels hopping from one pile to another, looking for any seeds, fruits and conquer, prickled ears moving through the grass and leaves like random submarines, there may be less light now but every drop of it feels magical this time of the year (especially with the English weather being thicker than a bears furr).
(PS. I efing hate phones constantly demanding your location data if you don't have GPS on when I just want a picture like right now ... Instead of fiddling with the Leave Me Alone button, lost the perfect composition because of that:
