We were cycling some quiet back lanes in the Cotswolds and came upon this idyllic scene.
It's a short, abandoned, section of the old (28 mile long) Thames and Severn Canal.
There's a preservation group trying to restore the whole length, but I fear it won't be complete in my lifetime.
The roundhouse, now a private residence, was at one time the lock-keepers cottage and was one of only five of its type ever built, of a unique design on the Cotswold Canals.

The lovely village of Wedmore sits on the Somerset Levels and has one existing village shop and pub.
New houses are being built to attract newcomers and this new enterprise has been created too.
It's a development of small shop units, cafes and hairdressers to bring new life to the community.
I think the sign says it all really, and I hope the venture is a huge success.
