I sat on a bench and watched the people go by. Shot with the flip screen down...

So much rain these past several days plus a medical issue that kept me at home for a couple of weeks. Today was my first opportunity to go out and shoot.

This was an unanticipated grab shot. The guy bent down to look in the guitar case when I was about 6 feet away and about to walk past them. I quickly flicked the camera on and fired off a few frames, using the rear screen to frame the shot. The 35 equiv FoV was a bit too tight. I'm appreciating the X100V's high ISO performance because it allows me to shoot at 1/400s in less than ideal light which is what I need to eliminate camera blur due to me walking while taking the shot. And, of course, its very fast start-up time is crucial for how I shoot.

I've been using a Laowa 17/1.8 manual focus for the past few months but when I went out today, I mistakenly had the 15/1.7 mounted instead. I shoot using zone focusing and the Laowa has been great for that. Having to use the 15 today, it became apparent to me that Panasonic's "Lens Position Resume" feature isn't exactly accurate. This shot's not too bad but there were many where the resumed focus distance was definitely not the actual last-used distance.
Oh, another thing that happened today is that I dropped my GX9 + 15/1.7 from chest height right onto the concrete sidewalk. Ugh. Amazingly, the camera has absolutely no marks on it and it seems to function just fine. It landed on the corner of the JJC grip which has some tiny dents on some of its edges, along with a small dent on the 46mm-37mm filter reducer that I use as a shorty lens hood. Both those items saved the GX9 from any damage.

very interesting. I wondered if two face to face ladies were twins talking to each other, and realized the left one is the mirrored image of the right one after having a close look!
