Last weekend I switched things up and used the Panasonic Leica 25/1.4 for street shooting instead of the Panasonic Leica 15/1.7 which I've been enjoying so much. Framing has to be more deliberate now and I have to adjust focus more often even when shooting at f/5.6. With the 15mm, I've found that being focused at 3m and f/5.6 was enough for virtually anything I shot.

So funny to come across your pictures; I see the street scene and think "I recognize that!", then realize that it's your photography. I don't see many local shooters on here, though I'm certain there are several.

Funny that you say that when I was just reading Walter_J's post which came right after mine, and noting that those mountains looked like BC mountains and then saw that he's from the Bulkley Valley area. So 3 consecutive posts from BC'ers.

Since I made a concerted effort to do local street photography (as opposed to only doing it while traveling) near the start of this year, I've been posting Vancouver/Surrey/White Rock photos in this thread at least once per week.

Went shooting again yesterday with the 25/1.4. In some ways it's good but in other ways it's bad. One of the bad things is that I can succumb to my fear and shoot from farther away but the resulting perspective is less appealing to me. On the other hand, because the DoF is shallower (AND the skies were overcast yesterday), I couldn't rely on zone focusing. So I was forced to pause and focus prior to my shots which meant I had to spend more time "exposing" myself as taking a photo so I was noticed (ie: caught) more often. But no one cared. If I'm framing a shot in an obvious way, I make a habit of continuing to frame a shot even after the subject leaves the frame so they don't think they were the subject.

I suppose this does sum up some relationships all too accurately (the wallet's in the other pocket, dear).
