I enjoyed photographing people out in the rain
while standing in a dry spot myself :)

I tried a tighter crop but I think it's more interesting with the flare in the top right corner. Your thoughts?

Personally I think cropping the flare out completely would've resulted in a way too tight crop, just as you said. Not only I think the long shadows add to the scene - but also the urban downtown backdropt with the highrises. The flare might be a bit distracting in my eye, but I think it's better this way than cropping it out completely. A part of the lens flare is also almost above the woman in the red dress, I tried a vertical crop but find that subtle flare even more distracting.

I see two lines crossing making the scene unique: The lady & the couple (plus the sign in the background) vs the flare & the lady’s shadow. One of the cases I would accept editing, making the flare more reddish.

it is a visual deception that the secondary orange steel beam appears to be sitting on the tiled ground, in fact it is the overhead beam of a gantry crane.

Thx for you input!

Funny that you mention that because that's exactly what I did; I made the flare more reddish by adjust the colour sliders. Perhaps if I put more effort into it or tried other techniques I could've made it even redder. Thx for your feedback.
