Sometimes it pays to bring the camera along. My daughter asked if I wanted to go for a walk down at the beach to watch the sunset. As we were heading out the door I thought, "what the heck," and I grabbed my G9 + 12-35. After the sunset, when it got dark, I noticed the beautiful light on these stairs so I waited for someone to come along. I've seen the stairs many times in the past but tonight I happened to have accidentally switched my finder to B&W mode and I thought I'd leave it there for a bit and that's when I happened to view the stairs in B&W and was struck by the light.
I wanted some light to frame his head so I shot additional frames as he came down. But once the light was behind his head, he was also lit up in the front and it ruined the silhouette.
Also, my daughter thinks it's creepy that I photograph strangers.
