The Popcorn Wagon

    Hi All. Here's a pic of what I suppose you might call a "found thing". It's a popcorn wagon that has been on display just adjacent to the Merry Go Round at Butchart Gardens just outside Victoria, BC. I can report that it hasn't always been there, or I would have noticed it before.

    It's a colorful subject, and the PP certainly brings that out. I'm often uncertain whether I should push color saturation further for dramatic effect (I haven't with this, it's what was brought forward by Photomatix Pro.) I will say that the color vibrancy here doesn't match a print, or the uncompressed 16 bit file viewed in Photoshop.

    This was shot from a low angle, which gives the original an off-kilter quality that seems to enhance the quirkiness of the whole affair (that version is on my Flickr page, if you care to look.) I've straightened this one out, for better or worse.
