I know there are numerous macro lens based threads on here, but I think a general image thread of all macros pooled together would be useful. I've tried looking for one but I don't think one exists!

To start things off:
These are done with the Minolta MD Macro 50mm f3.5 with 1:1 adapter on my G5.

Self Portrait

I've posted this before, in another discussion.
A "self portrait" - my reflection in the tip of a ball point pen.
Shot with the 45mm and both Kenko extension tubes.

E-PL1. Likely shot with the Oly 40-150mm with extension tubes.

Also with the E-PL1 and I think the O 14-42mm kit with tubes as well. I used 2nd curtain flash diffused with waxed paper or something similar.

A spider wrapping up a bee. The bee was still kicking, but the spider was very persistent.

Tamron 90/2.5 on a Panasonic G2 with a camera mounted flash shot through a piece of white paper or bounced off of something handy. I don't remember which.

I don't remember the aperture, but it was probably between f/8 and f/16.

Here's another. I think I posted this in the Green thread a while back.

G2 at ISO200, 135mm enlarging lens on a bellows all on top of a distressingly heavy tripod.
Again there was a camera mounted flash involved, probably shot through a diffuser. OK it was really a sheet of white paper. Diffuser just sounds more photographer-y.

I really love the detail and the even lighting. I think it was worth your effort. A home-made diffuser always feels like such a huge value for the effort. I'm partial to folded waxed paper in a pinch.

I'll have to go through my archives and repost a few of my favorites.

Good idea. A few I took last year, all with the Minolta MD Macro 50mm and Lumix G2:

Alright, here's a few of my favorites (I tried not to go overboard). Some technical details available if you click through to Flickr.
