Found this nest in the garden yesterday, but for the life of me I can't quite work out what species of bird the chicks belong to? They looked quite hungry but didn't make much noise, if at all.

I lost my glasses, as well. Must pop back out tomorrow and find them.

We had a spiders nest hatch in the kitchen today... proud mum and babies doing well.

Got out with the camera club for the first time in 4 months! It was a really good evening and great to catch up with the other members, and good to photograph stuff outside my back garden for a change!

And of course, you were showing off your new 60mm Macro lens.
I bet the rest of the club were impressed.

As grotesque as it is, I love that shot of the fly on the bird's beak. :eek-31:

Thanks Brian. Definitely showing off the new macro, although it kind of got lost in the mix, there were at least 3 club members with new cameras so they got lots of oohs and ahhs.

The dead bird was interesting, it was like it was place in a perfect position for photography, on top of a plinth and on it's back... I'm pretty sure it didn't die there! I'm with you, pretty gross, but very interesting. The fly was a willing model and, even with eyes in the back of its head (a new find for me), so was the wasp.

Sitting in the garden and a tiny fly landed on the tip of my little finger.
Fortunately my camera was next to me with Olympus OM 50mm plus extension tubes fitted...
