Hi everyone  Been a while since I've posted as I've been on the road without a computer, but I've been rather busy shooting over the last couple of months!

Thus far in my adventures I've spent time in southern Finland, Estonia, Rondane National Park in Norway, Belgium, and now the Netherlands. In a few days I'll be heading to St Jean Pied de Port in the south of France to begin the 780km Camino Frances to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain.

Due to obvious weight constraints, this is the first time I've travelled without a computer and as I normally shoot solely in RAW this has necessitated a bit of a change in my shooting technique and workflow. I've been shooting RAW + medium jpeg, and I've reset the 'C' modes on my GH2 so that C1 is for colour and C2 for B&W (like the old days when folk would carry a black body with B&W film and a chrome body with colour slide )

While I plan to edit the RAW versions of my favourite photos when I get back to Tasmania, I've been using the jpeg copies for sharing with friends/family on Facebook. This means that for the first time in about 5 years I've had to focus on getting it right first time every time, in camera - no more straightening wobbly horizons, playing with levels and cropping out annoying elements for me! It's been quite the adjustment to say the least

I've also started to have a serious crack at zone-focussing and waist-level street shooting with the Nokton 25mm, which has been interesting but I've still got a bloody long way to go before I start getting consistent results... I found f8 and 800-1600iso to give the best balance of depth of field and frozen-motion. Unfortunately, I've found 25mm a bit tight for the kind of working distances I enjoy, so the Nokton 17.5mm lust has returned with vigour

Anyway, here's a bunch of shots from the streets of Amsterdam (first two shots from Rotterdam) - the ones obviously shot wide open were focussed eye-level and most of the others were zone-focussed and shot blind.

Zero editing of any kind - 100% OOC jpegs.

    GH2 + Nokton 25mm with a B+W C-pol and 4-stop ND filter for some shots.
