Someone here asked how the moon would look with my setup, and i also wanted to test it myself now that i got the new 2x converter, and tonight there is a full moon here, so here it is.

    OMD+ Canon 300mm F2.8+ Canon 2x teleconverter

I shot it in landscape format, but then cropped it to portrait.
1/160 F4 or F8, dont remember and since the lens is manual i dont remember since i tested both :p

How does it do on the planets and other stars? I'd love it if you can Saturn's rings and moons.

Very nice photos. I don't have a lens to even try this at this point but I am going to keep an eye out for one.

The canon 300 f4L is very, very tempting to me. I have a Nikon 180 ED and TC-16A to try. But I'll have to 100% crop to get where your photo is as far as perspective. But hey, how many moon shots can you take?
BTW, the second one looks like somebody got the NIK EF EX package.

I just ordered the Canon FD 2X converter for my FD 200/2.8 lens. I wonder if the FD 200 can do anywhere near as good as the FD 300. If I can find a full moon / clear sky combination in my area, I will try to take a few and post.

Here is measly attempt at trying to get it. This is using my Canon FL 55-135mm at 135mm, using a FD 2x converter on my GF5. The image is also cropped about 50%. A little PP done in iPhoto '11. When I have time and a full moon both at the same time, I'll have to try it again without the 2x converter. I think it softens things, and maybe more so since it attached to the mFT to FL/FD adaptor. When I have some extra money, I want to try to get a 500mm lens, or even a regular telescope. I like shooting space.

Thanks for doing this GRID. It looks crisp even though, by the looks of it, you didnt apply much PP sharpening to it. I usuay have to go overboard with shapening with my 100-300 panny to get a nice pop to my moon shots. Excellent work like always.

    that shot taken with the!

this one's heavily cropped and PP'd. not too shabby. taken with an ep3 and a nikon 18-200vr. racked at 200. good results can be had as long as you nail the focus.
