Perhaps someone clever can Photoshop it onto this body. GX9_BODY_slant_K HDJM copy.

I was so excited about the grip until I realise they made the retarded decision to make the battery/card door inaccessible with it on. *sigh*

Is this your review? It's nicely done. Interesting to see the 20X mag, and the low light shooting. I didn't see those mentioned in the DPR reviews.

  6. Looks nice. A few Qs...

1.) Exposure compensation in M with auto ISO?

2.) Focus Bracketing? And if yes, is there a 'one shot at a time option' so one could use flash?

3.) Auto ISO in M mode with video?

    Thanks.

Yes, all mine - thanks :)

The 20x isn't working yet in mine (firmware v0.1) but I've been told by Panasonic its a thing.

Does the grip provide weather sealing, lol

That is a nice looking camera, but according to DPR, you can't access the card or battery when the grip is on. I hate when they do that. ESPECIALLY on a CIPA 260 shot battery!! (edit: just noticed CyVan said the same thing a few posts earlier The Lumix GX9 in detail - new features and functions)

  10. Is the sensor the same as the GX8 and does the camera have the 2 minute long exposure limit?

1.) Exposure compensation in M with auto ISO? -

    Yes

2.) Focus Bracketing? And if yes, is there a 'one shot at a time option' so one could use flash?

Yes, but no one-shot-at-a-time mode. Works with mechanical shutter though and seems to work with the built-in flash - pausing between frames. This needs more investigation.

3.) Auto ISO in M mode with video?

    Yes

Specification on sales page say it has 5-axis Dual I.S 2 but according to this video by Sean Robinson it actually has Dual I.S version 1:

Well, that Panny product manager sums it up. He said "Carrying a lot of things photographers wanted from the GX8 body into the body of a GX85." So, it's a smoodge-up of the two, and it sounds like, I would argue, that this is more an upgrade of the GX85. To me, body styling/size/grip and controls define the line, and the rest is tech within the line.

I don't see how anyone could call this a GX8 upgrade, when it looses the grip, size and weather sealing of the GX8, which are different classes of body, again IMO.

  17. Thanks. Do you foresee 1 and 3 coming to cameras other than the GX9, G9, and GH5 via FW update?

I'd hope so, but who knows? You'd think it would be easy enough, but that's not always how it works :)

  19. Nice, thanks for sharing -- are you able to share any info about the camera's low-light handling?

Is it the same EVF as the GX85? Panasonic should just give up on small EVFs and use the same EVF Epson units Olympus uses.
