The Isle of Skye

    Just two days on the Isle of Skye, yet by the end we were rejecting vast beautiful landscape photos as "nah, that one's boring".

    Coming over a ridge, you see:




    ..followed by:


    So you're glad of a rest by a gentle Scottish burn:


    Heading back to the Inn at the end of the day (and the Isles Inn in Portree does an unbelievable Steak & Ale pie), smoke obscures the hills:


    We went hunting for its source:


    ..and found it. The fire brigade arrived at the farm this shot was taken from just after we'd left:


    But there's more to Skye than landscapes:


    I can definitely recommend it.

    Heading this way in the next year or two. The plan is to do NW Scotland and Skye by motorcycle. Thanks for sharing, yr pictures have given me more info than two days of google Earth.

    Excellent reminder of why Scotland would be the finest tourist destination on earth, but for the weather :)

    That said, we've always had good weather when we've been over...
