Who is tempted by this little tele lens, I am as it is so small it can go in the bag and almost forget till its needed. I would like to see some samples from it though.

Diddy is a slang term for tiny, an old English one I think.

Not that one I mean the tiny one that they are about to release, the 12-32 pancakes sibling.

I also have the 35-100 lens.
    Great lens
Whilst I would love the new Olympus offering (40-150 f2.8) I'm don't think I want the extra size that goes with it so at this stage will be sticking with the Panny.

I will surely get this lense. I already have the 12-32 and this will be a great replacement for the 40-150 on my gx7.
GX7/12-32 is always with me and adding to this set the new 35-100, measuring just 5x5cm, will make for a formidable diddy little photo package indeed.

Heres a link to the new lense for those confused: http://www.panasonic.com/de/consumer/foto-video/lumix-g-objektive/h-fs35100e.html

It seems that people are getting the lenses confused... I think the OP meant the new 35-100 retailing at a price point far below the already well known 35-100mm f2.8

Well I am putting a pre order in for this baby, having spent the last day thinking seriously about it the whole package on the smaller bodies makes for an easier to handle package with my fybro. The 14-140 as much as I love it and think it is a super lens may be going bye byes as it is a relatively heavy lens, not sure yet and don't have a funding issue.

Nothing fancy, just a couple of shots, JPGs out of the camera, WB adjusted in LR. Indoor, night mix of incandescent & CFB bulbs..
ISO 400 3.2 seconds f6.3 (not hand held )

It's a very nice lens. Very compact, f2.8 fast, weather sealed and in-lens IS. It does not extend while zooming either! I might have to sell it though.... The new Oly 40-150 f2.8 looks extremely tempting..

I didn't realize you weren't referring to the 35-100/2.8 zoom. Maybe editing the thread title would clarify this.

The op is refering to the new pany 35-100/f4-5.6 announced with the new GM5. He clarifies this in his second post. People just keeps bringing up the f2.8 because they don't read read all the posts.

This is the lense on subject: http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=679...43.com/showthread.php?t=69161&page=2&xtz=-180

I have the 35-100/2.8 and love it (I've read the entire post I swear!), but I'm actually interested in the new 35-100/4-5.6 as well. Currently my backup camera (that my wife uses mainly) is an EM5 and 12-32 and the 35-100/4-5.6 would go perfectly with that I think.

I'll probably pick one up when the street price drops/I can get a used one for cheap.

I normally wait for the price to drop on these things, but it just seems so ideal, I ended up getting a 12-32 at pretty soon after there were ones available. These lenses and the pancakes fit right into what I feel is the ethos of ยต43 (others will differ in opinion) of being a small format with good quality output.

Guilty as charged. However, the topic title was misleading and a quick scan of the thread showed a preponderance of mentions of the 35-100 f2.8 lens. This 35-100/f4-5.6 was totally unknown to me. Is it actually in use now? Has any user posted images taken with it? Anyway, I don't think I would interested in a kit lens like that since I already have the perfectly good PL35-100 f2.8

    Dear Panasonic,

Please make GM5 + 35-100 f4 - f5.6 one of your purchase options and get ready to take my money.

Yes I could be quite easily persuaded to part with cash for that combo, well I would have a pre order in already as I have for the lens :)

    GM5 + 12-32mm + 35-100mm = sold. 2 lens combo needs to happen, today.

I have the 12-32 so I don't want a second one, I am hoping panasonic do at least offer body only, I way just get a GX7 instead, I don't know just yet or can't make my mind up.
