I've thought for some time that what this site has been sadly lacking in is pictures of chickens - so to redress that dreadful oversight here are some of ours, happily living in the back garden

and finally a Warren - she is actually one rescued from a battery cage by the Battery Hen Welfare Trust - she arrived with us barely able to stand and no feathers at all on her breast - all worn away by rubbing on the cage - I'm delighted to say she loves her freedom and rewards us with gorgeous tasting eggs, if this encourages anyone to avoid battery farmed chickens I'd be very pleased

Fine idea for a thread - I have nothing to contribute other than my compliments on a few of the shots in this thread. I could take a picture of the eggs in my semi-urban refrigerator, but that would do nothing but start philosophical musings about chronology.

Resurrecting an old thread since there doesn't seem to be a newer chicken thread that I could find.

This is one of our Ameraucana roosters...Bertrand. Quite handsome and isn't an ***hole like a lot of roosters. GX8 w/ 14-45

Huh, what a thread. I actually took a picture of a chicken yesterday. Can't see the chicken all that well ( :p ) but I like the colors.
