Got a new Oly 25mm. Thought Id do some unedited straight out of the camera test shots because i am bored.

I messed up on the test. I could not figure out why the 14-150mm on my M10 II took a shot of my PL7 that looked so good to me on the first shot and then when I used the PL7 with the new 25mm it didnt look as good , I kept taking picture after picture and could not recreate the photo. So after 30 minutes of telling myself I dont like this lense. Take a look at the barrel of my 14-150mm.

    CPL filter DOH!

Just a Friday night messing with cameras..

I prefer the first image. The colors such as the brown book cover and desk top seem better saturated and not washed out and I prefer that composition as it gives a hint of the book title. The first one also seems much sharper.

I prefer it also, it's the 14-150mm zoom lens with polarizer lens. I'm surprised it looked a lot better than the prime.

I'm waiting for a polarizer for the 25mm now.

I'm not really surprised given that you're shooting at f/5.6. The polariser made a huge difference in controlling specular highlights and reflections, I'll have to keep that in mind when doing product photography next time!
