I have the 12-50 Kit for E-M5 and will be getting the 20MM 1.7 shortly (or the 25 1.4, have not decided yet). I am looking for a tele zoom for travel. Would like to hear what users are happy with. Is the Panny 45-200 the one to get? I currently have the 14-150 which I picked up with the body due to the rebate but still have about 3 weeks to return if there are better choices for this range.

    Thanks for any recommendations...

    Hi
I would personally stick with the Oly 14 - 150
It is super compact - not much bigger than standard kit zooms, super light and quite well balanced
Although there are a few minor image quality issues here and there like there are with any similar style lens It fairs quite well with generally very respectable results
There is another thread where this lens is discussed

Thanks Rob. I will look for that thread. I took a few shots this morning and they weren't bad. Just looking for alternatives.

I just got the 45-175 for my OMD and it's excellent. I'm on the mu43 app on my iPad right now so I can't post a link to the thread but look for my thread in this forum with a few pics from it.

The Pana 100-300mm is probably the only lens that manages to stand out from the crowd; the rest are pretty standard kit-style zooms, even the 45-175 X. Not bad at all, but largely unremarkable.

I would definitely agree with that but if you don't want to spend $500, the 45-175 is your best bet.

Panny 45-175 is excellent, sharp across entire focal range wide open, very fast and precise AF for both stills and video, nice contrast and color, solid 'made in japan' build quality with metal mount. Very light and compact, internal zoom, very silent.
