nice use of the FE lens too. I can never get shots that don't look fishy....
Part of it is having a scene that lends itself to being right in the middle, so the fishiness is less obvious. Mostly though, I always do some form of re-projection in post production to make it more natural looking. My favourites are Panini general (looks more like traditional UWA, with straight verticals), stereographic (for closed in spaces where there's stuff at the edge of the frame that you don't want to look super stretched), and transverse Mercator (for vertical sweeps like the portrait Milky Way, where you want the horizon to look straight).

Part 3. Mt John Observatory
We were taken on a private tour of the facilities by some retired staff, as well as Graeme Murray, the founder of Earth & Sky.

Lake Tekapo, outside our accommodation.

You have shown a great set of photos & thanks for sharing.

Unfortunately there has been a tragedy on the lake in the news today, with the above photo bringing some reality to it. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-09-...-students-die-in-nz-kayaking-accident/6807050

It was pretty sobering to find out about it. I was just about to write about this when you posted it actually. There's a bit more information here:

It's surreal knowing that I was in the exact area just days before, near Lake McGregor and Motuariki Island. The company who hires out the kayaks is right around the corner from where I was staying, so those kayaks at the lake side that you see in my photo were probably the very ones taken out...

It's very sobering when tragedies happens to where we are or were etc,. It must be even harder for the families of the deceased being American & British with their sons being in Australia on exchange & then going to NZ with this happening. I hope (one of) my daughter stays safe while travelling (presently in the UK), but tragedies happen at home too.
