Tape - Other Grip Issues

Discussion in 'Panasonic Cameras' started by Boatman, Feb 8, 2012.

  1. The thread on tape got me thinking. I don't think the GH2 is slippery, so I don't understand the need for friction tape, but I have two issues realated to grip and controls:

    1. I frequently hit the AF/AE lock button or the ISO button with an errant finger or thumb.

    2. The thumb wheel often shifts modes when I'm trying to turn it. It's worse to the right than to the left.

For the buttons, I was thinking that if there were a ~2mm thick piece of foam that could be placed around the buttons, they wouldn't be so easily depressed unless you really poked your finger onto them. Of course this would work much better if the foam were die cut to match all the buttons on the back. Dies are expensive though. Hey, you guys over in China, are you listening?

For the dial, I have no suggestions. It's like it needs bigger nubs on the wheel. Any ideas on how to get a better lateral grip on that thing?
