Very compact, close-focusing and sharp.

the OM adapter doubles the length of the lens attachment- looking for a shallower one atm...

Nice. I love using old lenses - people tend to forget that there were great lenses in the days before digital. A little more work and less compact, but fun to use.

There will be no shallower one. Two words: flange distance ;)
you are correct. I can remember buying my very first OM to micro 4/3 adapter and I couldn't get infinity focus. The adapter was marginally too shallow. I bought the current one ( in the photos ) and it worked great.

An update on this one- having invested in a few M42 lenses, managed to get an M42 to Adaptall ring so using that. I now get 6" to infinity focus no problem :)

I have this lens for many years in mint condition and a love/hate relationship with it.
It is well built an a pleasure to use, but it imparts a yellow cast to the pictures.
It turns a bright mid-day sun into a late afternoon light. But it affects the colors, it is not neutral at all.
I think it's the BBAR coatings, because other Tamron Adaptall2 lenses that I have (like the 35-80mm f2.8-3.8 SP) also have this kind of rendition.
I'm not alone in this:

I've not noticed this effect using this or any other adaptall lens. Perhaps it's the way the camera meters or sees the image if that makes sense. My Olympus bodies do a superb job with any legacy lens.
