Try this for magnified view with a manual lens

Press left arrow button at the rear
Press (menu set) button
Then turn the front wheel for magnification

Yup, that's the way to do it with uncoupled legacy lenses ...

... though I rarely find I need to turn the front wheel to increase the magnification. The initial magnification seems to be quite adequate when using the eyelevel finder. Only when using the rear LCD do I find the additional magnification beneficial.

Can you post any picture made with your Tamron 90mm f/2.5?

I've been satisfied with my 90 f/2.5's performance.

But the magnified view on my G1 only works on native micro 4/3 lens.
I use my G1 with MF legacy lenses and magnified view all the time, no problem whatsoever. Judging the sharpness on any MF lens without using magnified view for focussing is useless, you're just looking at your own focussing errors.

I had used the same lens in the MD mount (Vivitar Series 1) on my G1 and didn't face any issues at all. Like others have already suggested, it seems to me that the focus is off. Anyway, here's a photograph that I made with G1 and the 90mm:

The only thing I hate about this lens is how prone it is to flare. But, other than that, I have nothing to complain about. It's a wonderful macro lens.

EDIT: The above photograph was not handheld, the camera was resting on a tripod. At such magnifications, it's best to go with the tripod and I remember using the magnified view to get the eye in focus.

Great shots!!
Thank's for share. Incredible what you did with the same lens I have.
Did you used the dedicated 1:1 2x Teleconverter?

Great macro shot! thank's for share.
Did you made any post-processing to the photo or this is a direct output from the camera? I mean, your image is so bright and my photos with this lens tend to be a little dark and sometimes with a blue cast.

Yes, I know that a tripod make a lot of difference in macro.
I was disappointed with my lens because of the results also on landscape photos where theres little risk of camera shaking.

I will make a few more test shots (mainly in Macro mode, with and without 2x Teleconverter) and then post them back in this thread.

Hum, I've missed this function since this camera came to my hands.
I was only using magnified view using native m4/3 lens in manual focus mode.
Useful! Thank's ;)
