Chuck, any news on this lens? I am looking at the version II Panny 14-140mm but the Tamron 14-150mm is certainly a contender on paper. Almost as light, slightly shorter, "standard" 52mm filter thread. But apparently made of unobtanium?

    Called tamron

I called customer service today - was told by the guy answering the phone that he had no idea when or even if it was coming out. He said maybe it was put on the back-burner to get out the 150-600 or they just scrapped it altogether but he had no idea really and didnt see it coming out soon if it does come out.

was also interested in this lens at the right price

Tamron's busy making lenses for systems (consumer) that are going the way of the Dodo.

I disagree. DSLRs are not going, not yet anyway, and probably not for many years. However if they{Tamron and the other lens makers} would start releasing more m4/3 lenses it would surely help sell m4/3 better.

Good point. We still have people riding in horse drawn buggies.
