It was too naive of me to have guessed the YI would copy Panasonic's design, hello LeiYI!

and there's the 12-40 3.5-5.6 kit lens, looks like with a collapsible design.

to those whose first MFT camera this will be, I hope this can make them think highly of the systemo_O

Looks like a GM-1 at first glance.

Yep, for that you get a "leica", I'm wondering when are they going to copy paste photokina here in China too.

As long as it doesn't suck, I think this could sell pretty well. I hope it means more lenses for the system!

yeah, it looks promising, lets hope it is at least "ok" :) I had a look at their homepage, seems to be a new touch-interface for basic settings, 9 "dots":

Wonder if the lenses are stabilized? probably not

That macro mode 42.5mm looks rather interesting... another contender against the venerable 45mm that I just can't seem to replace.

Interesting... there seems to a dial on the top right corner. Doesn't seem to have many hard buttons though. Maybe if the panasonic GM line discontinues... these guys may pick up the slack.

I wonder if it has the same limitations as the GM1/GM5 with 1/500 mechanical shutter and 1/50 flash sync speed?

The touch screen seems to have some sensitivity issues. I do like the interface, though. it's at least different and seems pretty straight forward.

Interesting they are using the 20mp sensor, I would have thought they would have gone for one of the 16mp sensors, specially for the price of under $400 new.

if that price is true, i'm getting one for wife/second body. Also, that 42,5 shall be put to good use even if it has mediocre performance.

Yeah, the design thing, no comment.

It's the exact same 20mp sensor as the Pen-F and GX8.

So this camera is *half* the price of a body-only EM10II, or 3x cheaper than an EM5mk2 body, with a better sensor and for the base price it includes the kit zoom lens.

Oh and 280g, meaning it's the same weight as the GM1. So it's also the lightest M43 camera currently available. Nice big grip too, and finally touch-screen menus.

Edit: it also shoots 4k video

From the reviews going around the web the 42.5mm needs to be stopped down to f3.5 to be sharp and the kit is a bit soft. I'm curious to see how AF is with Panasonic and Olympus lenses. And how the 42.5mm focuses on other cameras.

Surprised there isn't more discussion about this.

After all, it's the first m43 camera after what, 6-7 years? This can only mean good things, even if it turns out to be a dud.

reviews already? Nice... shame about that f3.5, if true
