Anyone know of an effective supplemental wind fliter for video? Like maybe a type of cloth or felt one could glue on top of the camera mic that would greatly cut wind noise, yet still allow normal sounds to be recorded such as speech, birds, etc?

For the built in mike, you could try some fake fur. But the best solution is an external mike + windscreen aka 'dead cat'. It's basically a fluffy, long haired sock that fits over your mike. It's called a dead cat, because that's what it looks like :). It works wonders in the the wind.

I don't know why it is called a dead cat. It looks more like a dead rodent. Nonetheless, it is what I use and it does a marvelous job.
