To make it Olympus MFT related, this picture was taken with E-P1 with FT 40mm 1.4 lens. Also, there's more to it...

First to guess correctly wins! Win what you say? You win knowing you guessed correctly! More to follow.

Could it be per chance a MF camera 35mm film back ?

    Wouldn't risk guessing a brand...

    Cheers,

To me it looks like the bottom of a medium format camera with the leather stripped and the base cleaned. The lugs at the bottom are where the film back connects.

And maybe soviet or early Japanese? base casting and rivets look a little crude........

How's this Oly related? Well, Mr. Aki-Asahi is sending me a leatherette kit for both E-P1 and Hassy. So I decided to strip the leatherette last night. I'm not done yet... talk about ugly.

I guess, given the price, I didn't expect a Hassy to look like the old soviet MF I had. To be honest the old 88 base looked much better cast and machined than that!

Alright...so if you watched Aki-Asahi's instruction video on how to install leatherette on e-p1, you've noticed his fingers are filthy. Well, now I know... installation on e-p1 is easy and quick. And it doesn't get your fingers dirty.

Installation on the Hassy is another story. My fingers are dirty and the job is really hard. And I'm only half way done... Dang.
