Looks like he took a Helios 44, reversed it and then put a ton of gaffers tape to block the light. Interesting DIY approach.
The biggie st issue i am wondering how he overcame is keeping the focus point beyond the front of the lens. Judging by the pics, it also looks like a bridge camera, which may help with dof issues, depending on sensor size. I think they look amazing, personally. But also a fan of snow OUTside the house...
