Made a thread with images from a two week boating vacation in the Archipelago north of Stockholm (the 15th consecutive summer for me...) Of course, the m43 equipment was brought along meaning the E-M1II, 300mm PRO, 12-100, 7-14, 75 and 17mm f1.8.

Started in the old viking settlement, Birka. Published views from here before but I just love the place, here's the little guest harbour (panorama of four images)

    ... continued...

Next (somewhat odd in this thread), I heard that an old rock idol would perform nearby the coast. Met an old friend by the concert that used another kind of vehicle.

Was here during the moon eclipse, it was unfortunately mainly cloudy but here's at least one image where the eclipse still is effective on the right side

  4. Very nice set, I was glad to see that Billy Idol is still out performing and also that his age has kept pace with mine.

I've seen him three times; his Devil's Playground tour was amazing.

Edited to correct my poor memory count from 2 to 3 times. Sigh.

Nice! I've also seen him before, at least three times, and this was quite a small gig but the band still managed to make the audience feel special (played tracks for the first time since long, sang "a capella" when the equipment failed etc) true pro entertainment ;)

Crap... it's late on a saturday night, I'm slightly drunk, and I unexpectedly stumbled upon a Billy Idol thread... I apologize for all the rambling that follows, in advance...

So, a friend was down from Oakland for an opening night thing for some of her paintings at some aspiring LA gallery that I don't remember the name of... a few of us scurvy types tagged along for the ride, it was all a little cheesy, with Shepard Fairey as DJ and whatever Mexican beer was hipster-approved at the time, and who should show up but Mr. Idol himself! As a child of the 80s, I found this hilariously rad, but wasn't about to join the omg selfie-with-billy contingent... at some point, though, another drunken friend demanded my camera and dragged me over to the scene. He walked up to Billy, said "hey, can we get a picture?" and received a stoic nod, then proceded to hand the camera to Idol with the classic line: "Ok, you just push this little button here..."

He took it in stride, with a Whiplash Smile, and the resulting shot is, I believe, said friends facebook "cover image" to this day. It makes me laugh every time I see it. True story. Thanks Mr. Idol, you're a real human being.

Thank you David, hope you'll have a great visit here. By Swedish measures, the summer has been extremely warm, hope there's some good weather spared for you :)
